City implements snow route parking ban

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A blast of arctic air and some fresh snow has blanketed Calgary for Family Day.

If you happen to be getting into your vehicle, Chris Mcgeachy from the city’s roads department has something you should be aware of.

“We had snowfall through the night. Today (Monday) we are also calling a snow route parking ban is going into effect at 12 pm.”

The parking ban will be in place until Thursday around noon. As a result, you’re asked to move your vehicle if it along the snow route.

“It’s also a good message to the rest of the people who don’t live on a snow route to expect, maybe you’ll see a few extra cars in front of your house. Just to remind people that they are required to move their vehicles off of those snow routes,” said Mcgeachy.

The roads department will be out and about today as they continue to clear priority one routes including Glenmore and Crowchild Trail.
