Calgary Hitmen take down Medicine Hat

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Hitmen improved to 8-2-1 in their last 11 games with a 3-1 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Goaltender Carl Stankowski made 29 saves in a first-star performance to backstop the Hitmen to their fifth straight win at the ‘Dome.

Captain Mark Kastelic led the way with a goal and an assist while Egor Zamula scored in the second period, and Carson Focht pitched in with an empty net goal in the third.

Elijah Brown replied for the Tigers, who after a scoreless first period, trailed 2-1 through 40 minutes.

Both teams finished the game with 30 shots.

Hitmen improve to 3-1 over the Tigers so far this season.

Calgary will now get set to make the return trip to Medicine Hat, Saturday, Feb. 16 for the back half of this home-and-home set.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
