Saskatchewan’s carbon tax court case begins

REGINA – Lawyers for Saskatchewan and the federal government are heading to court in Regina today over the carbon tax.
Saskatchewan, which opposes the idea of a federally-imposed carbon price, is asking the Court of Appeal whether it’s constitutional.
Ottawa argues it has the power to put a price on pollution because climate change is a national concern.
A University of Alberta law professor says the case is an important constitutional challenge and could end up at the Supreme Court of Canada.
