Calgary Hitmen defeat Moose Jaw 6-2

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — In their first game back at the Saddledome, the Calgary Hitmen defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors 6-2 on Sunday.

The Hitmen scored twice in each period en route to the victory.

Carson Focht led the way for the Hitmen with three assists, while six different players found the back of the net for Calgary.

Mark Kastelic and Tye Carriere started the scoring off for the Hitmen, giving them a 2-1 lead following the first frame. James Malm and Kaden Elder picked it up from there, netting their own to put Calgary up 4-1 through 40.

Riley Stotts and Cael Zimmerman rounded out the scoring in the third.

The Hitmen have now gone 7-1-1 in their last nine games. Calgary has now surpassed Red Deer for the first spot in the Eastern Conference Wild Card standings.

The Hitmen will be in action next when they visit Lethbridge to take on the Hurricanes on Wednesday.
