SAIT offers financial boost for Métis students

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Métis Education Foundation, through the Rupertsland Institute, has provided a huge gift in support of Métis students attending SAIT.

With support from SAIT and the TransCanada Corporation, $950,000 has been given to support the success of Métis students attending the school.

SAIT vice president, Heather Magotiaux, said this fund will provide a huge boost to all the Métis students.

“Of course there is the financial support. Which is important to students, the ability to be able to focus on your studies and to know that your tuition and books and living expenses are covered,” Magotiaux said.

Magotiaux said this shows students that someone is investing in their future and recognizes the importance of education.

There are around 250 Métis students that attend SAIT that will be positively affected by the funding.
