Charges laid following overdose death northeast of Calgary

DRUMHELLER (660 NEWS) — A Drumheller man is facing serious charges after a 29-year-old woman died as a result of an overdose last summer.

Mounties were called to the scene and determined the cause of death was a mix of carfentanil, methamphetamine and amphetamine.

RCMP then launched an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Forty-year-old Chad Daniel McCann of Drumheller was arrested Thursday and is charged with one count of trafficking on opioid and one count of trafficking meth.
