Hitmen beat up on Broncos in Swift Current

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Hitmen jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the 1st period in Swift Current and never looked back in a 6-2 win over the Broncos.

James Malm led the way with a three-point night, two goals and an assist while Kaden Elder put up a goal and an assist.

Riley Stotts also picked up two assists.

Cael Zimmerman, Layne Toder and Luke Coleman with the other goals on the night for the Hitmen who have now won four straight and come away with wins in both games of a two-game road trip.

Hitmen rookie goaltender Brayden Peters made 30 saves for the win in his WHL debut.

With the win, the Hitmen are five points up on Brandon for the final wildcard spot in the east.

The Hitmen will host the Wheat Kings Friday at 7 p.m. at the Stampede Corral.
