Student flown to hospital after bus rolls near High River

HIGH RIVER (660 NEWS) – One teen has been flown to hospital by STARS after a school bus rolled on its side, south of High River near the community of Cayley.

One man was taken to Foothills Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries while a teenage boy also suffered non-life threatening injuries and is being treated at the High River Hospital.

A teenage girl was rushed by ground ambulance to High River Hospital before being transferred to Calgary.

“She sustained numerous serious injuries, however at this time is considered in non life-threatening condition. We did rendezvous with STARS at High River general hospital and she was subsequently flown to Calgary.”

RCMP say there were 8 students on the bus when the incident occurred on 690 Ave. just east of Highway 2.

Drivers are being asked to use caution approaching the area.

The cause of the rollover remains under investigation.
