Calgary family reaches out after grease fire explosion

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A Calgary family is coming to grips with a horrific grease fire that sent a teenage boy to hospital with serious burns.
According to a GoFundMe page set up by Jessie Smith, his family was cooking with hot oil when it unexpectantly exploded causing a fire to parts of the house.
Jessie’s younger brother, Riley, suffered third-degree burns to 30 per cent of his body.
The family is currently unemployed and is needing funds to help with fuel and food along with clothing items such as shoes and coats that were lost in the fire,
As of Monday morning, nearly $2,700 has been raised in the GoFundMe campaign.
