Three people sent to hospital after serious Highway 22 crash

COCHRANE (660 NEWS) — Three people have been sent to hospital after a serious collision Sunday morning.

Around 7:35 a.m. Sunday officers were called to a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Highway 22, south of Cochrane. EMS transported a man to the Foothills Hospital in life-threatening condition and two teenagers to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Originally it was reported that the collision was fatal, but officers have issued a correction: there was “no confirmed fatality” according to police.

The road was closed for a few hours but has since been reopened in both directions. Officers are still advising motorist to avoid travelling in the area due to snow-covered and icy roads.
