Charges laid in fatal collision near Lethbridge

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Charges have been laid following a fatal pedestrian collision near Lethbridge in September 2018.
On Sept. 2, at 4:50 a.m. a man and woman were walking south on Highway 5 near Township Road 82 when the man was struck by a pickup also heading south.
The vehicle allegedly fled the scene before emergency services arrived.
The 26-year-old man from the Blood Tribe Reserve, was pronounced dead on scene, while the woman wasn’t injured.
A red pickup was recently located and after further inspection by the Coaldale RCMP, is believed to be the suspect vehicle in the collision.
Michael White Quills, 31, of Cardston has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision causing death.
He will appear in court on Mar. 6.
