Hitmen fall to the Rebels on home ice

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Red Deer Rebels defeated the Calgary Hitmen 4-1 on Sunday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Brandon Hagel got a goal and assist to in the Rebels victory.

Alex Morozoff, Arshdeep Bains and Carson Sass also were able to capatilize and score for the visiting team who have now won six of the past seven meetings agianst the Hitmen.

Hunter Campbell scored a shorthanded, earning the Hitmen their only goal of the night.

The Hitmen were outshot by the Rebels 32-24.

Even with the loss, the Hitmen are two points ahead of the Brandon Wheat Kings for the final Eastern Conference Wildcard and the win pushes the Rebels into second place in the Central Division.

The Hitmen are back at home next weekend for two games.

They host Prince George on Friday and Kootenay on Sunday.
