Man killed, another person hurt after multi-vehicle crash on Macleod Trail

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — One man died and a woman was treated for minor injuries as a result of a multi-vehicle collision on Macleod Trail near Shawnessy Blvd late Friday morning.

Police say the man may have suffered a medical emergency. He was rushed to hospital, but passed away from his injuries.

The crashed closed the northbound lanes for some time before being reopened.

It’s one of dozens of crashes throughout the city, as road conditions deteriorated following a blast of snow and diving temperatures.

Police are urging drivers to allow themselves extra travel time and to keep a safe distance between themselves and vehicles in front of them.
