Woman and child killed in head-on collision near Rocky Mountain House

ALBERTA (660 NEWS) — Weather may have been a factor in a crash near Rocky Mountain House that claimed the lives of a woman and a child.

The 35-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy died after a head-on collision northwest of Rocky Mountain House. According to RCMP, the car was traveling northbound on Hwy. 756 when it lost control and slammed into a southbound truck. The two men in the truck suffered minor injuries.

RCMP said the road was slippery at the time because of freezing rain at the time of the crash. While mounties are not releasing the identities of the woman and boy, they have stated that both victims are both from the O’Chiese First Nation.

The weather is also blamed for another collision that killed one person on Hwy. 2A.
