Man dies after exchanging gunfire with police in Colorado

AURORA, Colo. — Colorado police say a man has died after exchanging gunfire with officers while wearing body armour.

They said another man found Tuesday in a nearby Aurora home also died of gunshot wounds.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. Tuesday after Aurora police received a 911 call of an armed man acting erratically.

A police news release said officers heard gunfire when they arrived and were confronted by the man in the body armour. The man was struck when shots were exchanged, but no officers were hurt.

The other man was found later.

Both men died at a hospital. Their names were not immediately released.
