Six-year-old dead after truck collides with snowplow outside Edson

EDSON (660 NEWS)– A six-year-old boy is dead after the truck he was a passenger in collided with a parked snowplow on Hwy. 16, about 32km east of Edson.

Around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, a GMC pick up truck was heading eastbound when it struck the snowplow that was stopped on the shoulder. The child was pronounced dead at the scene. The man who was driving the vehicle was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

RCMP say the two were related but won’t be releasing any names.

The driver of the snowplow wasn’t injured in the incident.
