Summary

The ParkPlus app and virtual parking was down for three hours Friday.

The Calgary Parking Authority says people could still pay for parking via the on street pay machines.

The CPA is investigating what led to the outage.

CALGARY (660 NEWS)- Calgary’s ParkPlus system was disrupted early Friday morning after virtual parking and the app were down.

The Calgary Parking Authority tweeted about the problem just before noon, telling people to use the on-street pay machines, instead.

Following the outage, Spokesperson Adrian Mrdeza says anyone who tried to use the app or virtual pay and didn’t pay on the street may get a ticket.

“There is the option to pay on street at a pay machine, that’s the go to when situations like this happen, and it is required,” said Mrdeza.

The outage lasted around three hours but was restored just after 2:00 p.m.

The CPA is still looking into what went wrong.
