Calgary parking system experiences short malfunction

CALGARY (660 NEWS)- Calgary’s ParkPlus system was disrupted early Friday morning after virtual parking and the app were down.

The Calgary Parking Authority tweeted about the problem just before noon, telling people to use the on-street pay machines, instead.

Following the outage, Spokesperson Adrian Mrdeza says anyone who tried to use the app or virtual pay and didn’t pay on the street may get a ticket.

“There is the option to pay on street at a pay machine, that’s the go to when situations like this happen, and it is required,” said Mrdeza.

The outage lasted around three hours but was restored just after 2:00 p.m.

The CPA is still looking into what went wrong.
