EMS confirmed that one man was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries following a crash that shut down parts of Stoney Trail Thursday morning
Calgary police said that eastbound Stoney Trail at Deerfoot and the ramps from Deerfoot Trail to eastbound Stoney were closed following the incident.
660 NEWS reporter Mike Blanchard was on the scene and provided more details into what happened.
“A semitrailer pulling a flatbed trailer heading east on Stoney Trail lost a pair of wheels and that led to a chain reaction and a series of collisions. The wheels bounced across the median and struck the front of a westbound pickup truck.”
“The driver of another pickup truck heading the same direction as the semi hit the brakes, trying to avoid all the flying debris, that vehicle was rear-ended by a gravel truck causing significant damage.”
