Cyclist charged following death of 75-year-old pedestrian in Calgary

CALGARY – A cyclist in Calgary has been charged in a fatal collision with a pedestrian.

Police said a 75-year-old man was crossing the street in a marked intersection last July when he was struck.

The man was seriously hurt and died in hospital three days later.

Paul Joseph MacNeil, 24, has been charged with failing to stop at an intersection red light.

He is next to appear in court on March 1.
