Banff woman dead after four car crash in Oyen

OYEN (660 NEWS) — A 28-year-old woman from Banff is dead after a crash near Oyen — east of┬áCalgary.

It happened yesterday at about 11:30 a.m. on Hwy. 9 near Range Road 60. Four vehicles were involved in the collision which began after truck headed eastbound crossed the centre line into the path of a westbound car. The female driver of the westbound vehicle died at the scene. The man and woman in the truck that crossed the centre line are in hospital with serious injuries.

Two other cars headed westbound on the highway collided, one ending up in the ditch. The roads were icy at the time and fog was shrouding the area according to Oyen RCMP.

Three other people including two women and one man in the other vehicles were transported to a hospital with minor injuries and released.

The name of the woman killed is not being released at this time.
