Calgary teacher charged with sex-related offences

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary police have charged a teacher with sexual interference with a child under 16 and unlawful confinement.

Officers were called to Bob Edwards School on Marlborough Drive in the northeast on Oct. 25 following reports a teacher had inappropriately touched several students.

Witnesses said the teacher appeared to be impaired when he arrived at school in the morning and attempted to speak to several students — making inappropriate comments and physical contact.

It’s also alleged one student ended up alone in a classroom with him and was prevented from leaving during which he made unwanted physical advances and comments.

The suspect, identified as Mikhail Kolesnikov, 35, left the school premises before officers arrived.
