Brookfield Residential YMCA offering tours before grand opening

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — The world’s largest YMCA is opening in Calgary’s southeast community of Seton.
Tours are being offered on Saturday and Sunday of the 330,000 square foot Brookfield Residential YMCA from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The community centre will be a hub for sports activities as well as the arts.
“The pool is a very large aqautic centre, so that is going to be a big focus of this facility. We do have some other great spaces as well, including hockey arenas, three gymnasiums, beautiful weight floor and running track,” Said Jessica Pana, regional membership manager, south & centre manager, Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton. “As well as the first blackbox theatre in the south for the YMCA, which also has two full service art rooms as well.”
Pana added that there was a large need for a facility like this in Seton and they’re happy to fill the gap.
The official opening day is January 14th, the pool area is expected to open on March 1.
