Chestermere homeowners see decrease in taxes

CHESTERMERE (660 NEWS) – Homeowners in Chestermere are getting a break.

The city has announced a two per cent tax cut for 2019.

Mayor Marshall Chalmers told 660 NEWS why this was an important decision for council.

“Our economy really is under attack and we have no federal support to address it. So in Chestermere, our council has heard those concerns and our belt-tightening is certainly in response to those concerns,” said Chalmers.

Here in Calgary, city council voted to increase property taxes by 3.45 per cent next year in it’s latest budget.
