Redirect Program holds inaugural event

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Over one hundred kids showed up as the City of Calgary and Calgary Police Service teamed up to tackle youth radicalization in Calgary.

The ReDirect program held its inaugural event Wednesday night to raise awareness about some of the issues facing vulnerable youth.

Anand, one of the youth organizers, tells 660 NEWS it’s about giving young people the tools they need in today’s world.

“My classmates can be a victim of this, as can more youth nowadays prone to more radicalization and crimes to benefit themselves in an illegal way, so I think it is important that everyone knows about this topic,” Anand said.

This year’s group theme was “Us Versus Them” – in a bid to promote togetherness.
