Man charged after drugs and weapons found in stolen truck

PONOKA (660 NEWS) – A 27-year-old man is facing more than two-dozen charges after a stolen truck got stuck in a ditch near Ponoka, Tuesday morning.

RCMP responded to the scene off the QE2 highway shortly before 5 a.m., after someone reported the driver was possibly impaired, and walking away from the scene.

An officer determined the truck was stolen and noticed there were drugs, ammo, knives, stolen cheques, credit cards, and passports inside.

A police dog was deployed and a suspects as quickly found in a wooded area.

Travis Ricky Ball is due in court in late December. He is facing 25 charges including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking and resisting a peace officer.
