Four ski hills close to Calgary ready to open

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Albertans itching to shred some g’nar will get the opportunity to sooner rather than later.

Lake Louise, Sunshine, Norquay, and Nakiska will open on Friday.

Matt Mosteller with Resorts of the Canadian Rockies said the opening is right on time.

“This is a great time, couldn’t be anymore fortunate with snowfall happening in Calgary as well. People are now really in gear and engaged and hey, it’s time to go skiing and snowboarding now.”

He adds to the best thing to do is check the road and weather reports before heading out.

“Go through your packing list before you head out too, it is the first time to ski or snowboard. You got to make sure you bring the key items to enjoy your day in the mountains.”

Lake Louise, Sunshine and Norquay will open at 9 a.m., Nakiska will open at 12:30 p.m.
