CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Striking Calgary Canada Post workers are back to work earlier than anticipated.

A Union rep told 660 NEWS Monday they were expected to remain off the job until 8 p.m. the next day but they came back at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Workers in Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Edmonton also returned to work Tuesday.

Canada Post says rotating strikes have affected operations in more than 70 communities across the country, causing backlogs that could delay mail delivery to its customers for several days.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says Canada Post employees have walked off the job in several cities in Ontario and Quebec for Tuesday.
