Police investigate hate crime on Calgary Transit bus

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary police are looking into a hate-motivated assault of a Calgary Transit bus driver.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman who yelled racial slurs and threw a slush drink at the driver.

The incident occurred nearly two months ago, on Sept. 3, 2018.

According to police, the woman boarded a bus near 18 Street and 69 Avenue S.E.

After she became abusive towards the driver, she was asked to get off the bus. She threw the drink at the driver before fleeing on foot.

The woman is described as Indigenous, 5’4″ tall, with a medium build and is believed to be in her 20s. At the time of the alleged assault she was wearing a white and pink hoodie and black pants.
