CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Cut the unnecessary red tape.
That’s the advice from the Fraser Institute on how Alberta can attract new investment in the oil and gas sector.
Senior Fellow Kenneth Green says he recommends the province institute a de-regulatory ministry.
“You have a person who monitors regulations and you have a strategy of reducing two regulations for every one new one you promulgate based on their cost that they inflict on the regulated community,” says Green.
Green says this has been done in B.C., New Brunswick, and Washington, D.C.
