Wind warning issued for Calgary

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A wind warning is out for Calgary and much of the rest of Southern Alberta.

It says the city could see gusts up to 90 km/h starting late Friday morning into the afternoon.

Meteorologist Andrew Schultz from CityTV’s Breakfast Television said the wind will also usher in chilly temperatures.

“For the most part into the late afternoon, so, we’ll hit that daytime high (11 degrees), and then I wouldn’t be shocked to see a rapid cooling as that cold front moves into place,” he said.

Schultz said the cold front will stick around through Saturday, with things warming up again on Sunday.

The wind warnings cover from Camrose down to the U.S. border, but it’s not in place in the Lethbridge region.
