American Airlines flight diverted to Calgary Thursday afternoon

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – There were some tense moments onboard an American Airlines flight over Alberta Thursday afternoon.
The aircraft made an emergency landing in Calgary after experiencing some mechanical issues.
Flight 263 was en route to Beijing from Dallas when the pilot reported a medical emergency and diverted to Edmonton.
That’s when a problem with the flaps was detected and a mayday call was issued.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner then spent about two hours burning off fuel before landing safely at Calgary International around 5 p.m.
The pilot reported there were 222 people on board.
