TransCanada Highway CLOSED west of calgary

A release from the town of Canmore.
“The TransCanada Highway is CLOSED in both directions from Dead Mans Flats to just east of Lac des Arc (at the rock cut). Canmore RCMP is facilitating an evacuation of motorists who are stuck along the road. Vehicles that can operate will be escorted back to Canmore. A warming centre has been set up at Canmore Collegiate High School (1800 8 Ave). Coffee, snacks, chairs, and cots will be available by 12:40 a.m. Stay tuned for more updates.”
UPDATE: as of 2:25AM westbound traffic is being evacuated by RCMP with passenger vehicles priority, eastbound traffic is being staged back to Canmore.
