Calgary police veteran charged following weekend incident

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A Calgary police officer is facing charges after an alleged domestic incident on the weekend.

According to the Calgary Police Service, the member, who was off-duty at the time, was arrested by RCMP in a neighbouring municipality on Saturday and was charged with one count of assault.

The officer has been with the CPS for 22 years and has been relieved from duty with pay until the case is resolved.
