Dene will soon be heard in the halls of the Alberta College of Art and Design.
The school and its indigenous resource space have partnered up with the Tsuut’ina Nation to help make the course a reality.
Officials aren’t promising that you will be fluent in the language – but conversational Dene is at least the goal.
“I think it’s important here on Treaty Seven to recognize that language is an important part of connection with any culture specifically the Dene language, the Dene culture here,” she said.
Indigenous Coordinator Tina Kinnee-Brown says the course is already full – with 20 spots – and they have a wait list with 20 more.
The course, which is free, runs from October 10 to December 12.
