Flames and SAIT host hockey camp for kids

With hockey season on the horizon, the SAIT Trojans hosted the 7th annual Calgary Flames and Sport Chek Development Camp for kids this weekend.

The two-day camp included on-ice coaching, classroom instruction, hockey presentations, and other sport activities.

Executive Director of Hockey Education Reaching Out Society, Kevin Hodgson, said that for a lot of the kids this is the closest they’ll get to going to hockey camp.

“So they’re super excited and Harvey the Hound, Curtis Lazar, and the guys from the flames, that’s just a bonus for them, they are so excited to get out here and play a game,” said Hodgson.

Representatives from the Calgary Flames Foundation, Sport Chek, and the SAIT Trojans hockey team were also on hand to volunteer as instructors and to assist at the event.
