It looks like there’s support amongst Calgarians to bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The new-city commissioned poll will be included in a report to the Olympic Bid Committee at its meeting Tuesday.
Five hundred Calgarians were surveyed in the poll, with 53 per cent supporting the bid, versus 34 per cent opposed.
Around 13 per cent said they were undecided.
The poll was conducted between July 23 and 29 and is considered accurate within 4.38 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
The City of Calgary has set a date of November 13 to conduct an official plebiscite on hosting the Winter Games.
