Six years and counting: Alberta Open Farm Days are set for a big weekend as more farms than ever signed up to help educate consumers about where their food comes from.
It gives people a chance to meet the farmer, experience agriculture in Alberta and taste local foods direct from the producer.
Tim Carson with the Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies said he knows how much of a positive impact Farm Days have had on agri-tourism.
“The opportunity to get out there and see just exactly how big this farming industry is, and how it does contribute to not only our economy but how well we eat here. It’s really quite an experience for people,” said Carson.
