RCMP say they still have no suspects or motive in the shooting of a German tourist, west of Calgary.
The 60-year-old was driving on Highway 1A with his wife, son and son’s girlfriend two weeks ago when someone in a car pulled up beside them and shot the man in the head.
RCMP Cpl. Curtis Peters says police did seize a vehicle and take one person into custody.
“Both that individual, as well as that vehicle, have been fully investigated,” he said. “We are ruling them out of being involved.”
The man has since been flown back to Germany with life-altering injuries.
RCMP have released photos of the type of vehicle the victim was driving, as well as maps of the area where he was shot, in hopes of jogging people’s memories.
