Family remembers young woman allegedly killed by boyfriend

The family of a 24-year-old Calgary woman allegedly killed by her boyfriend says she was a beautiful soul who touched many lives.

They released a statement, the day after 25-year-old Dustin Duthie was charged with three counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Taylor Toller, and his mother 52-year-old Shawn Boshuck and his stepfather 51-year-old Alan Pennylegion.

Toller’s body was found in her Applewood Home on Tuesday, but police believe she was killed about a week earlier.

Boshuck and Pennylegion were also found dead on Tuesday in their home in Hidden Valley.

According to police, although these murders are considered to be domestic in nature due to of the relationship between the victims and the accused, the exact motive for the murders is not yet known at this time.

“The family of Taylor Toller appreciate the thoughtful expressions of love and support from her friends and loved ones across Calgary and Alberta.

Taylor was a kind and beautiful soul who touched many lives. She was admired and loved by her siblings, her parents, grandparents and extended family. She had a core group of very supportive friends with whom she was determined to make significant and positive contributions to her community. Taylor will continue on in our memory and we will continue her efforts towards community building in her name.

We are very grateful to Calgary Police Service for their compassion in this matter and we offer our deepest condolences to Shawn and Alan’s family.

Our family needs privacy during this difficult time to grieve for Taylor and to make arrangements to celebrate her memory.”
