Folk Fest takes over Prince's Island Park

Calling all music lovers – Calgary folk fest kicks off Thursday at Prince’s Island Park.

It features over 70 artists from all over the world with over 40 hours of programming.

Artistic Director Kerry Clarke said this year is sure to be a great time.

“Some really cool artists such as Alvvays, Joe Jackson, Tribe Called Red, Neko Case, Shovels and Rope, Bahamas and many others,” she explained before adding Folk Fest offers something not found anywhere else.

Thirty-nine different collaborations so you’re going to see people perform in ways they haven’t and interact with artists they way they haven’t before.”

Along with seven performance stages there will be beer gardens, food trucks, and even a family zone.

Tickets are still available on the Calgary Folk Festival website.
