Morning crash kills two southeast of Calgary

A head-on crash has left two people dead in southern Alberta.

RCMP say a car and pickup collided on Highway 519 between Fort Macleod and Claresholm around 7:00 a.m. Monday.

Emergency crews pronounced the female driver and passenger in the car dead at the scene.

The person behind the wheel of the truck was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be a factor, but an RCMP collision analyst is still trying to figure out what exactly happened.
