Calgary unveils new Good Neighbour Guide

The City of Calgary has unveiled its Good Neighbour Guide.

The document provides information about your property rights and responsibilities under the city’s bylaws

It appears unkempt lawns and excessive noise are the biggest gripes among residents.

Sergeant Brad Johnson with Calgary Bylaw says the city isn’t trying to ruin your fun, but adds using common sense goes a long way keeping complaints down and your neighbours happy.

“It’s not to say that you have to shut down your parties,” Johnson said. “You just have to be wary of the noise you do generate when it gets into the late hours.”

The Good Neighbour Guide is posted on the city’s website. It is available in six languages.
