Police shooting sends man to hospital

The actions of some members of the Calgary Police Tactical team will be under the microscope following an officer-involved shooting Thursday night.

Police say members tracked a stolen vehicle through the city for about six hours before they tried to arrest the suspect in the southeast community of Auburn Bay around 10:30 p.m.

At that point, they say a second vehicle pulled up, also believed to be stolen.

They say a confrontation took place which resulted in one tactical team member shooting a suspect.

The person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while two others were arrested.

No officers were hurt.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has been called in to investigate.
