Animal rights group wants end to rodeo events

Animal rights groups are reacting to the death of a horse at the Calgary Stampede.
Michael Alvarez-Toy with the Calgary Animal Rights Coalition says the use of animals at events like the Stampede should stop.
“We have issues with the entertainment obviously. There are far too many injuries, fatalities, animals being mistreated.” Alvarez-Toy states, “There is no need for it.”
This is the first horse death during the Stampede this year and no other horses have been injured.
A chuckwagon driver was also injured this week in a crash.
