Calgary’s first family of wrestling is airing some dirty laundry about late family member Owen Hart who died in a wrestling event in 1999.

In a recent CBS Sports In This Corner podcast, brother Bret Hart accused Owen’s widow Martha of erasing Owen’s memory , saying “She’s a very obtuse, square-headed person. I think she’s done more to erase my brother Owen’s memory than she ever did to remember him.”

In a statement Wednesday night, Martha Hart calls the comments reckless, irresponsible and clearly untrue.

She says Bret’s comments are rooted in the fact she has refused to work with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) , saying “I am firm in my belief that the WWE was responsible for Owen’s death. As a result, I cannot and will not support any efforts by the WWE to profit from Owen’s memory.”

Martha Hart notes the Owen Hart Foundation started in his memory has exceeded $4 million in gift giving and contributions for scholarships and other projects.
