Advisory still in place against swimming in Elbow River

As the weather warms up, Alberta Health Services is advising Calgarians not to swim or wade in a section of the Elbow River.

A contaminated water advisory remains in place between Sandy Beach to where the river flows into the Bow.

The advisory has actually been in place for about two years, but more people tend to flock to the river this time of year.

If you do access the river, you’re advised to take precautions and to wash up after getting out.

Fecal coliform can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
