We should learn more about an Olympic plebiscite later this month.

Calgary city council’s Olympic oversight committee met again Tuesday to complete some housekeeping duties.

“On (May) 29th, we will be having a conversation about the non-statutory public hearing, and the plebiscite, and potential options and questions around what that plebiscite question might be, and options and timelines about when that might be,” Count. Evan Woolley said.

The 2026 Olympic bid process has faced criticism at times for a lack of details and too much secrecy.

“I can tell you, we are going to air on openness and transparency. I have committed to that in my role as chair. (The) committee is very interested and supportive of that. Calgarians, before they make that decision in the plebiscite, will have a very, very clear understanding of the costs associated with the Olympics,” Woolley said.
