Hospital parking ticket has Calgary family fuming

A Calgary family is speaking out against the parking regulations at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Chris Martin tells City News after rushing their 3-day-old day baby to the emergency room and paying for parking for 24 hours, he found a nasty surprise on the hood of his car.

“It was an hour or so later that I’d gone out to the car to get some of the baby things that my wife needed, and found this $40 ticket on my window that had been written less than 15 minutes after we had actually pulled in and parked.”

Martin adds there was no one on site to help him and when he tried to go to the website, it crashed twice.

He has heard from other parents about having the same problem and has also had difficulty getting a hold of Alberta Health Services.

AHS has since waived the ticket and has given Martin a complimentary parking pass to the hospital.
