Hitmen lose close game to one of the CHL’s best

The Calgary Hitmen hung in with one of the best teams in the Canadian Hockey League on Wednesday night before bowing to the Swift Current Broncos by a score of 3-2 at the Credit Union iPlex.

The Broncos, who are ranked third in the CHL’s standing, received goals from Glenn Gawdin, Tyler Steenbergen and Aleksi Heponiemi.

Jakob Stukel and Tristen Nielsen scored for the Hitmen in the loss.

Stukel’s point streak now stands at 10 games.

The Hitmen now travel to Saskatoon for a tilt with the Blades on Friday, before taking on the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday night.
