Sixties Scoop survivors share stories in Calgary

Survivors of the Sixties Scoop in Alberta will talk about their experiences Wednesday during a sharing circle in Calgary.

During the 1960s, Indigenous children across Canada were taken from their homes and placed with foster families or put up for adoption.

The province is holding an engagement session to hear from survivors and their families to help form a meaningful government apology.

After a short presentation, the session will be closed to the media to protect the privacy of participants.

It starts at 9 a.m. at Ross Glen Hall at Mount Royal University.
